What’s New in 2012-13
Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, November 5 2012 – The winds of change are still swirling at le Massif de Charlevoix, where slide sport fans and amateurs of the great outdoors are already anticipating a December 15 opening date. With rodeling departures now scheduled every hour, a bigger and better than ever snow park, freestyle improvement camps, a more accessible rail and trail cruise, a refreshed Adventure + Learning Centre and new events to match its already stellar reputation, le Massif de Charlevoix – recently crowned Best Terrain in the East by SBC Resort Guide’s Editors’ Choice Awards – transports fans to a whole new universe this season.
More Rodeling Departures
An instant hit last season, in 2012-13 there will be hourly departures for le Massif’s newest slide experience – rodeling. On the 7.5 km sled run on Mont Liguori, this means more fun and more thrills for more people, all winter long.Adrenaline buffs and thrill-seekers of all ages are sure to revel in this original, authentic two-hour on-mountain activity.
Bigger, Updated Snow Park
Bigger and better than ever, this year the snow park is introducing new features and rails. Ramp and rail gurus will find hours of fun on the new wall ride, spine, c-rail, rainbow rail, battleship, 24'' flat box and several wood features too. And every Saturday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm, skiers and riders of all ages are invited to attend freestyle improvement camps coached by top riders.
New Rail & Trail Deal: Ride to the Mountain on the Train of le Massif de Charlevoix
For only $99 p.p. (taxes not included), winter sports fans can now board the Train of Le Massif de Charlevoix in Quebec City, and ride the rails to the foot of the trails in Petite-Rivière-Saint-François. The two-way rail cruise includes breakfast on the way there, and gourmet tapas on the return trip. Leave the car at home, relax, enjoy the ride. Admire breathtaking scenery along the St. Lawrence River and get off at the base of the Mountain.
A Refreshed Adventure + Learning Centre
While it still offers lessons for beginners and intermediates, le Massif de Charlevoix is very dedicated to more advanced skiers and riders too. That’s why new improvement clinics have been devised to meet their specific needs. Whether to improve bumps technique, carving style, telemark skills or powder power, adult improvement clinics are perfect for taking a favourite slide sport to the next level.
For the younger set, the daycare is offering new indoor and outdoor activities blending nature appreciation, surpassment and loads of fun. Under the biosphere theme, children learn while they play. On the program: Discovering slide sports, an interactive rally and multi-level challenges with Igor, the friendly Mountain Yeti. A lovely way of trying a new slide sport and discovering le Massif’s best-kept secrets!
