BARNARD, VT, BED & BREAKFAST ANNOUNCES
JANUARY - MARCH 2013
“CHEESE FONDUE & FIREPLACE TOO” LODGING PACKAGE
BARNARD, VT, Nov. 29, 2012 –
The Fan House (
http://www.thefanhouse.com), a bed and breakfast accommodation in an 1840 country house in Barnard, VT, offers a “Cheese Fondue & Fireplace Too” 10
th anniversary lodging package Jan. 2 through end March 2013.
Included are a welcome cheese fondue with spiced cider in front of the fireplace, daily breakfast and accommodation for a party of two in one of three guest rooms (each with private bath). Rates are from $175 to $215 per room per night, exclusive of a 9 percent Vermont tax.
Known as
The Fan House because of a carved, fan-like exterior motif above most windows, this bed and breakfast is in good company in Barnard, home of Twin Farms (one mile up the road), reputed by many as one of the country’s finest destination resorts. Barnard was a haven in the 1940s to the late Carl Zuckmayer, a noted German author and playwright.
“We share the same quiet country roads, stunning scenery, extensive dining opportunities and winter recreation options as do visitors to Twin Farms,” said resident owner-host Sara Widness who opened
The Fan House to guests in January 2003.
The integrity of The Fan House whispers through, among many other features, polished floorboards up to 18” wide, a turn-of-century wood cook stove, the kitchen’s centerpiece, and a décor throughout that strives for simplicity, with heirloom tapestries, original art and toile (but not overdone, says Widness) that nudge
The Fan House from vintage New England to couturier. Guests enjoy luxuries such as high thread-count linens, oversize bath sheets, handcrafted breakfasts, Bulgari bath amenities and more.
A massage therapist is on call to provide treatments for
The Fan House guests.
The Fan House enjoys a central Vermont location just minutes from premier ski resorts, lakes, the Appalachian Trail, art galleries and boutiques, and The Chateauguay, miles of unspoiled snowshoeing wilderness just across a creek bordering the property.
