VERMONT’S PITCHER INN CELEBRATES 2013 WITH THREE RENOWNED ACCOLADES FROM CONDÉ NAST TRAVELER AND ANDREW HARPER’S HIDEAWAY REPORT
JANUARY 8, 2013 – WARREN, VERMONT – Once again, Vermont’s
Pitcher Inn was listed as a top hotel on
Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List in the current January issue. Not only that, it was also included in the prestigious Platinum Circle category for hotels that have been on the list for five years. Other recent milestone achievements have included being named in the top 50 Hotels in the Northeast on Condé
Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards, which were announced in November
. The Inn was also one of
Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report’s Top Food and Wine Resorts in 2012.
The Pitcher Inn, a Relais & Chateaux and Virtuoso property in the Green Mountains of Vermont, with nine guest rooms and two suites, opened in 1997 under the elegant and watchful eye of Maggie Smith - not the actress - but the Vermont aficionado. Maggie splits her time between the Green Mountains and Connecticut, where her second luxe hotel, the whimsical AAA “ten diamond” Winvian in Morris is located - the property has five diamonds for its restaurant and another five for its accommodations.

“We are elated to receive these three incredible hospitality industry accolades,” said Ari Sadri, general manager of the Inn. “Maggie Smith is one of the most delightful hoteliers and her exceptional energy and graciousness with guests and staff have created this idyllic destination. We are beyond thrilled that our guests continue to come here to relax, rejuvenate and let the stresses of the world stop for just a few days while we host and pamper them.”
The sine qua non continues to be the overall experience at 275 Main, a dining destination for both for overnight guests and local gourmands. Accommodation rates at The Pitcher Inn are from $325 per night per room and include a full breakfast and afternoon tea in, appropriately, The Robert Frost Library. Both Robert Frost’s Ripton and Warren share one of Vermont’s most scenic roads, Route 100.
While The Pitcher Inn enjoys proximity to year-round activities including world-class skiing at Sugarbush and Mad River Glen, hiking, soaring, trout fishing and golf, it’s hardly a place to rush from in order to get to the next activity. When departure is required, however, the Inn can arrange private transportation from Warren to the Burlington Airport, just 45 minutes away.
