Fall Color Summary
In the North Carolina mountains, colors are emerging in the higher elevations. With peaks of more than 3,000 feet, Bryson City is noticing yellow poplars and red sourwoods. The dogwoods are developing a nice burgundy color at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. Meanwhile, oranges and yellows are showing in Linville Falls. Hendersonville enjoyed three nights with lows in the 40s last week; these temps coaxed yellow from poplar trees.
