FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
London, May 2013: The website for London Theatre, westendtheatre.com, has launched its annual “Dine for Free” summer promotion (www.westendtheatre.com/dineforfree), offering thousands of free meals in West End restaurants when booking tickets to see a show.
Major musicals and plays featured in the “Dine For Free” promotion include:
Brand new musicals: The Bodyguard starring Heather Headley and based on the Whitney Houston movie; A Chorus Line at the London Palladium; the acclaimed production of Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along; and Top Hat, winner of this year’s Best New Musical Olivier Award.
Long-running musical hits: including Jersey Boys, Rock of Ages, Thriller Live, Wicked, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia!, The Phantom of the Opera, Disney’s The Lion King and Let It Be.
Classic drama and comedy: including The Ladykillers, The Woman in Black and The 39 Steps.
With dinner and show packages starting at only £25 for tickets and a meal, the promotion provides exceptional value for theatregoers. Many of the exclusive packages also provide a discount on the ticket price in addition to the free meal.
Top restaurants in the promotion include some of the tastiest places to eat in the city including Porters, Covent Garden Grill and Cafe Des Amis.
A table reservation is automatically made in the restaurant when the package is booked, and all restaurants have been chosen for their high-quality and proximity to the theatre. Many of the packages include a choice of either pre or post theatre dining, allowing customers to choose whether to eat before or after the show.
The promotion is timed to celebrate this year’s 350th anniversary of West End Theatre in London (The Theatre Royal in Bridges Street, original site of Theatre Royal Drury Lane, opened on 7 May 1663 as the first purpose build theatre in the West End).
Publisher of Westendtheatre.com, Paul Raven, said: “As London celebrates the 350th anniversary of West End Theatre this month, we’ve tried to make our summer theatre promotion the most ambitious yet, offering unbeatable value to UK and overseas visitors to London”.
