FEATURING CHINA AND THE YANGTZE, THAILAND, SINGAPORE, VIETNAM AND CAMBODIA

Guests Fly Cathay Pacific From New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco

New York, February 2008 -- Pacific Delight Tours has introduced a broadened portfolio of 2008/2009 tours that focus on the sights, history and culture of Asia, and are detailed in a new 44-page “Asian Experience” brochure.  A leader in Asia tourism, Pacific Delight is offering 12 all-inclusive packages of seven to 19 days, with flights aboard Cathay Pacific Airlines, in two price categories, “Luxury” and “Deluxe SuperValue,” with year-round departures, many of them guaranteed, from Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.  “Deluxe SuperValue” packages, including the new 11-day “Bangkok, Chiang Rai & Chiang Mai Vistas,” 14-day “Thailand & Golden Triangle Vistas,” 10-day “Beijing, Xi’an & Hong Kong” and 12-day “Xian, Guilin & Hong,” make use of both deluxe and first-class hotels; “Luxury” packages utilize deluxe hotels including The Peninsula Beijing, Pudong Shangri-La Shanghai and Hong Kong’s Kowloon Shangri-La.  The programs, escorted or locally guided by knowledgeable bilingual guides, are $1,570 to $6,862 per person, double.  Government-imposed taxes and fees, including the Sept. 11th Security Fee of up to $155, are additional.  Prices are subject to change.

The wide-ranging portfolio includes five that offer in-depth exploration of China, visiting such storied cities as Beijing, Xi’an, Guilin and Hong Kong, with two including Yangtze River sailings aboard Victoria Cruises’ five-star fleet, featuring accommodations in outside cabins with balconies.  Other Pacific Delight tours journey deep into Thailand, visiting the country’s capital, Bangkok, as well as the more remote cities of the Northern Provinces such as Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai.  One tour combines the Indonesian archipelago of Bali and its active volcanoes, sublime beaches and verdant landscapes with Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok while other offerings take in Cambodia’s awe-inspiring Angkor Wat, built by King Suryavarman II in the early 12th-century, and a comprehensive roster of historic Vietnamese cities.

China sightseeing and activities included are extensive: visits to Beijing’s Tiananmen Square, the Imperial Palace’s Forbidden City, home to 24 emperors, and a walk along a small portion of the 2,000-year-old Great Wall, which runs for more than 4,000 miles; Xi’an’s spectacular Terra Cotta warriors, China’s most significant excavation in modern times, and a white-glove handling of artifacts in the Shaanxi Provincial Historical Museum; Guilin’s verdant and oddly shaped peaks, where travelers take in the city’s beauty with a cruise along the Li River; and Hong Kong’s Stanley Market, Aberdeen’s Repulse Bay, and an excursion up to Victoria Peak, as well as plenty of time for shopping.

Vietnam guests take in the Taoist Jade Emperor Pagoda and the French Colonial Notre Dame church in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon); embark on a traditional Chinese junk to traverse Halong Bay, a World Heritage site with 3,000 islets; and wander amongst the myriad temples and palaces in Hue’s majestic Imperial City in the Citadel.  In Bali, guests can visit craft villages and the Holy Spring at Tampaksiring or relax on the white sand beaches.

Nine modular tour options enable independent travelers to mix and match mainland China cities, the Yangtze River, Hong Kong, Thailand, Tibet, Japan and Vietnam.  A five-day tour extension to Bangkok can be added to tours concluding in Hong Kong while a four- or five-day extension to Angkor Wat can be added to tours beginning or ending in Bangkok.

Pacific Delight’s tour packages include round-trip transpacific flights from the west coast and New York; pre-confirmed deluxe and first class hotel accommodations; all air/land transportation in Asia, most meals, sightseeing and shore excursions, cultural activities, tour escort, transfers, fuel surcharges, hotel taxes, service charges and baggage handling.  Land-only prices and single supplements are available as are add-on fares from dozens of US gateways.  Travelers receive $100,000 flight insurance and frequent flyer credit when Pacific Delight tickets the air-inclusive tours.
