Dear Traveler,
Welcome to the August 2013 issue of our newly renamed blog, Wanderlust!
"Wanderlust" is a resonant word that Webster's defines as "strong or unconquerable longing for or impulse toward wandering." This unconquerable longing underlies every venture GeoEx undertakes, and its spirit will inspire and infuse our blog's combination of articles, interviews, photographs, and book excerpts, all celebrating travel.
Our August issue features a poignant tale from Penang, Malaysia; encounters with elephants and epiphanies in Africa; a charming sketch-story set in Laos; five Sri Lankan surprises; and illuminations from a recent journey to Cuba.
Thank you for sharing our Wanderlust. As always, we welcome your comments. Please e-mail them to me at don@geoex.com
Happy travels!

"The next to last elephant in the road-crossing parade has stopped, and is now turning toward us. Ears extended, tusks pointing our way, eyes staring straight at us, he ponderously maneuvers his tree-sized legs so that he faces us squarely. 'Don't worry,' Lewela whispers, 'he's just curious about us. He's checking us out.' " |
