PRESS RELEASE New York - August 27, 2013: Cyclist enthusiasts from around the around the world will arrive in Israel for Jerusalem's first-ever Gran Fondo Giro d'Italia cycling tour, set to take place on October 11, 2013. The event is organized by Giro d'Italia cycling club in the "Gran Fondo" racing style, and will bring participants past some of Jerusalem's historic holy sites, modern attractions and stunning landscapes, including Mount Zion, David's Citadel, Alrov Mamilla Mall, Mahane Yehuda Market and Sacher Park, among others. The tour will feature three courses of various lengths, including 12.4 miles, 52 miles and 79 miles, as well as a family-friendly route for beginner cyclists. The Gran Fondo Giro d'Italia is a worldwide series of cycling events that showcases the passion of Italian cycling and the strength of spirit embodied in the Giro d'Italia, arguably the world's toughest professional bicycle race.
