FROM VINEYARDS TO TULIP FIELDS, COMPAGNIE DU PONANT LUXURY YACHT CRUISE FROM BORDEAUX TO COPENHAGEN EXPLORES THE BEST OF NORTHERN EUROPE
Special Musical Guests Provide the Soundtrack for European Cruise
MARSEILLE -- (January 6, 2014) – French-flagged cruise line Compagnie du Ponant offers an 11-day cruise through Northern Europe this spring aboard its 132-stateroom luxury expedition liner Le Boréal. Departing May 12, 2014, the trip sails from Bordeaux to Copenhagen, taking guests on a voyage from the Atlantic to the North Sea to the Baltic Sea to explore France, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. Ports of call include the exciting cities of London, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Copenhagen, as well as stops at some smaller, more remote islands.
In keeping with Compagnie du Ponant’s signature of offering itineraries that visit lesser traveled locales only accessible to small ships, guests will also have an opportunity to explore Belle Ile-en-Mer, a secluded French island off the coast of Brittany which was a popular destination in the 19th century for artists like Claude Monet, Sarah Bernhardt and Albert Roussel; Sylt, the largest North Frisian island off the North Sea coast in Germany and its UNESCO World Heritage site Wadden Sea National Park; and experience the crossing of Kiel Canal, a 61-mile long canal that links the North Sea to the Baltic.
Featured musical guests aboard this sailing are Breton singer and composer Louis Capart and award-winning Ukrainian pianist Dimitri Naïditch.
11-day Bordeaux, France to Copenhagen, Denmark - from May 12 to May 22, 2014, priced from $3,769 per person, all-inclusive. Free singles supplement.

About Compagnie du Ponant
Since its founding by two French Merchant Navy officers in 1988, Compagnie du Ponant has taken to the sea with intimate ships that offer the essence of private luxury yachting with inspired French sensibility and custom technology to preserve fragile marine ecosystems. The world's only French cruise line celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2013 with the July launch of its fourth state-of-the-art vessel, the 132-staterooom Le Soléal, and the announcement that a new yacht is on order to join the fleet in the spring of 2015.
Able to sail in waters not accessible to larger ships, the four sleek Compagnie du Ponant yachts visit exotic ports not found on many itineraries, allowing 64 to 264 guests to discover engaging new experiences aboard and ashore during 3- to 21-night cruises that span the globe. Options abound, from five-star polar expeditions, cultural cruises and ocean voyages to music - (jazz, classical, opera and more), golf- and culinary-themed cruises.
