It’s time for Celebrate Bandera, when the town will honor their place in history as one of the major staging areas for the over six million head of longhorn cattle that were driven up the Great Western Trail to markets in Kansas and Nebraska.

Bandera, Texas, June 5, 2014 - On Labor Day Weekend, August 29th-31st, head for Bandera, the Cowboy Capital of the World, to experience this classic Old West town, with its cowboy culture, and horse-friendly hitching posts. It’s time for Celebrate Bandera, when the town will honor their place in history as one of the major staging areas for the over six million head of longhorn cattle that were driven up the Great Western Trail to markets in Kansas and Nebraska. Witness the signature event, a Longhorn Cattle Drive right down the Main Street followed by the Celebrate Bandera Parade.
 
Bandera does not just celebrate the cowboy way of life, Bandera lives it. This is where you will find Cowboys and Indians. Visit the Arts and Craft show on the Court House lawn, hitch a ride in a stagecoach or wagon. Visit the town of Rattle Snake Ridge and check out the Bandera Cattle Company gunfights. Try your hand at some chicken ropin’ or get a chance at Cow Patty Bingo.  
 
Voted one of the Top 101 Western Events by American Cowboy Magazine, Celebrate Bandera also features Cowboy Mounted Shooters; a Horseless Ranch Rodeo; the Circle of Life Intertribal Powwow; Mutton Bustin; World Champion Trick Roper, Kevin Fitzpatrick; World Champion Gun Twirler Pistol Packin' Paula; The Almost Patsy Cline Band; The National Professional Bull Rider’s Challenge; South Texas Bull Fighting Tour; The Kings of Western Swing; and the Western Heritage Cowboy Church Sunday morning services on the river.  
 
Location of arts & crafts is downtown. Pow Wow and Bull Riding is at Mansfield Park.
 
Almost all events are free. The only admission fee is for the NPBR Bull Riding.  Adults - $15; Seniors (55+) - $10: ages 12
