Emerald Season.
From November to January, when the grounds are a lush green from the abundance of rain and the Luangwa River flows full of hippos is perhaps the most understated and gorgeous time in South Luangwa National Park. Mfuwe Lodge is open year-round and four of the Bushcamps are open into early emerald season.Bushcamp Company has the only lodge and camps open during this time in the national park.
During emerald season, there is a flurry of life in the parks. It’s during this time that the migratory birds visit and an abundance of new life is birthed. This makes it an ideal time for walking safaris.
