WHAT: A 10-night cruise on Belmond’s newest luxury vessel, the Orcaella accompanied by Robert Gordon, former British Ambassador to Myanmar. The adventure begins in Yangon staying at the Governor’s Residence, which has been exquisitely converted into a luxury boutique hotel and guests will visit many of the fascinating highlights of the city. The day culminates in a special event at the Shwedagon Pagoda followed with dinner hosted by Robert and students from the charity Prospect Burma. This will be followed by 10 nights drifting north with the steady waters of the Irrawaddy River. Along the way Robert will be giving informal lectures on board to discuss his remarkable experiences of Burma in the 1990s and how the country is evolving.

Robert is Chairman of the pioneering educational charity Prospect Burma, which sponsors over 150 Burmese students a year to study overseas and within Burma. He was closely involved in Aung San Suu Kyi's historic visit to the UK in June 2012.
