31 Feet Of Snow So Far, More on the Way!
Steamboat powder hounds continue to enjoy a monumental 2007-2008 season, with over 31 feet of Champagne Powder® snow so far this season! Steamboat is in the midst of a four-wire winter – only the eighth in Steamboat history – and now with the kick off to the Bud Light Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series, the warm and sunny days of spring skiing are right around the corner. Come enjoy our abundance of Champagne Powder together with the $16 million in on-mountain enhancements, and variety of Ski & Snowboard School seminars, such as the Billy Kidd Performance Center-NASTAR Race Camp or the Women's Three-Day Seminars with Deb Armstrong. Deb Armstrong's Ski Tips
Think about what gets you inspired while on the slopes. Are you a moguls fan? Do you like to take on big jumps or do you just like to go fast? Getting your body ready for these activities is very important, so that you don’t run the risk of injury. Skiing/riding is an athletic endeavor and directed physical fitness will help. Basically get out and move – bike, hike, Pilates, yoga, agilities, jumping, and sprints for example. You don’t have to be superhuman - but the broader the range of activities you can do, the better. Skiing/riding involves balance, quickness, core strength, explosive power, flexibility and more. So get out, have fun, play and experience the benefits while on the slopes. Put all of these fantastic tips to use with Deb, who along with being a National Ski Hall of Fame inductee is also the Alpine Technical Director for the Steamboat Ski & Snowboard School. This season she will oversee NASTAR specialty clinics, coach with the Billy Kidd Performance center as well as host the Steamboat Women’s Three-Day Seminars currently scheduled for March 4-6.
