Lake Placid, New York -- The Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa is proud to announce it will host the third annual Adirondack Festival of Food and Wine April 24-27. This unique event brings together many of the country's top chefs and vintners for three days of wine tastings, culinary demonstrations and a seven-course pairing dinner. A ready-set-cook competition, a grand tasting with international food samplings and wines from more than 40 vineyards round out the event.
This year, the opening reception will focus on organic, artisanal and sustainable food products paired with a sampling of organic and biodynamic wines. Local highlights from the menu include artisan cheeses from Vermont and New York, Hudson Valley foie gras and regional harvests from Tucker Farms. A Riedel wine and glass seminar, a seven-course tasting menu paired by Benziger Vineyards and several visiting chef demonstrations are just a few of the many experiences guests will enjoy during this three-day celebration of food and wine.
Award-winning Executive Chef Paul Sorgule and his culinary team at the Mirror Lake Inn offer inventive, world-class dining in a warm, relaxed atmosphere that has earned them the prestigious AAA 4 Four Diamond Award of distinction. The Adirondack Festival of Food and Wine is a perfect example of the overall philosophy of excellence and innovation that Chef Sorgule continually brings to The View Restaurant at Mirror Lake Inn. "This event," says Sorgule, "is an opportunity for me to bring in some of the finest culinary talent in the country, share my kitchen with them and bring their touch to three days dedicated to understanding and enjoying food and wine." The series of interactive events being offered throughout the three days will allow guests the opportunity to meet the visiting chefs and vintners. Guests can also participate in cooking demonstrations, purchase copies of autographed books written by the chefs and ask culinary and oenology questions while savoring unique food and wine. Signed copies of Chef Sorgule's new book, In the Shadow of Cooks, will also be available throughout the Festival.
Some of the award-winning visiting chefs participating in the Adirondack Festival of Food & Wine this year include Chef Noble Masi, Chef George Higgins, Chef Jamie Keating, Chef Curtis Hemm and Chef Anton Flory.
