FROM THE DIRECTOR
As the weather becomes warmer around the Gulf of Thailand, activity in the North flourishes- especially since this area now hosts daily international flights. I highly recommend traveling to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, where visitors can experience elephant camps, shopping, trekking and hill tribe villages.
Chiang Mai Airport has started hosting daily international flights which connect with Souel, Tokyo, Singapore, Taipei, Kumming (China), Vientiane and Luang Prabang (Laos), and Yangoon and Mandalay (Myanmar). Domestic flights connect to Bangkok, Samui, Phuket, Mai Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Mae Sot, Phitsanulok, and Sukhothai.
When planning for yourself or for others, it is important to note that carriers out of Chiang Mai now include Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways, , Korean Air, Silk Air, Air Andaman, Mandarin Airlines, Lao Aviation and Air Mandalay.
Whether traveling alone, with a family, or in a group tour, every visitor will appreciate this region of Thailand.
