Discover a New Side of Orlando
More and more travelers are looking to learn something new on vacation and many Orlando area attractions offer an opportunity to be educated and entertained at the same time. Some of Orlando's unique discovery experiences include: training for the rigors of today's spaceflight with Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex's Astronaut Training Experience; working side-by-side animal experts and interacting with dolphins and other sea creatures with Discovery Cove's Trainer for a Day program; getting an exclusive look at animal rescue, rehabilitation and release efforts and the rare opportunity to view manatees, sea turtles and hand-feed exotic birds on SeaWorld Orlando's "Saving a Species tour;" learning to surf at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon; designing and riding your own roller coaster at WonderWorks; viewing the stars from the largest refractor telescope in Florida at the Orlando Science Center; or becoming a chocolatier and learning to make a variety of confections at Farris and Foster's. |

Orlando's Cool Pools
After a long day in the Florida sun there's nothing better than splashing around in the pool to beat the heat and Orlando has some of the coolest pools around. Nickelodeon Family Suites wows guests with two interactive water park areas including a netted basketball court, nine-hole miniature golf course and multi-level interactive water towers complete with slides, flumes, pop jets and dump tank. Families are carried away on the thrilling rides at the water parks in the area, like the signature ride at Aquatica – SeaWorld's Waterpark, which plunges riders down 300-foot long (91-meter) clear tubes through a crystal-blue lagoon filled with black-and-white Commerson dolphins. Swimmers never run out of water at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. The main pool offers 12 free-form waterfalls, two waterslides and a swim-through grotto. Universal's Hard Rock Hotel boasts a rock and roll-themed pool with an entertainment area featuring a 240-foot (46-meter) water slide and an underwater audio system, so guests never miss a beat. This hotel also features themed cabanas so guests spend the afternoon in The Beatles "The Yellow Submarine" or Stevie Wonder's "Musiquarium." Orlando World Center Marriott Resort's main lagoon features waterfalls and a waterslide more than 100 feet (30 meters) long. Whether looking for an action-packed place to play or a relaxing oasis, guests find the best of both worlds at Orange Lake Resort, where they lounge in lush, tropical scenery with a lazy river-style pool or splash up some fun at the wade-in pool, slides and interactive fountain. |

Golf Fun Fore Kids
While Orlando has 176 golf courses, some have programs designed specifically for kids and families. Grande Pines Golf Club at Marriott and Hawk's Landing Golf Club & Academy are two Orlando golf courses that are participating in the "Kids Golf-4-Free" program, which enables little linkers under the age of 15 to golf for free when accompanied by a paying adult. For those PGA and LPGA hopefuls, many courses in the area offer special guided experiences for both parents and children. The Grand Cypress Academy of Golf has award-winning PGA Class A certified instructors available for the whole family and offers summer camps, weekend clinics and special Junior Memberships for golfers as young as 6. |
