Move Over California, Idaho Wine is Making a Name for Itself

BOISE, IdahoIdaho is taking its place amongst the great wine growing regions of the world. Idaho is blessed with spectacular mountains ranges, world-class whitewater, and now award-winning wines.  Several festivals are planned to celebrate this bounty.  The Boise Convention & Visitors Bureau invites you to plan your visit in order to take advantage of these special events.  

The 21st Annual Beaux Arts Wine Festival, April 20-26, is a weeklong event of wine tasting, featuring local wineries and their finest vintages and neighborhood restaurants.  More than just food and wine, experience one-of-a-kind art, delightful entertainment, auctions with extraordinary items and a glamorous gala that unites the community in support of the Boise Art Museum. 

When the end of May rolls around, the Bogus Creek Ranch offers the 2008 Bogus Creek Ranch Wine Walk where locals and visitors alike can enjoy sampling more than 36 fine wines, a cuisine of steak and salmon and learning about wine from the aficionados.  Let your worries melt away with a leisurely stroll around the ranch and delightful entertainment; this is the perfect setting for relaxing and unwinding 

Summer gives way to one of the area’s popular weekend activities, Jazz at the Winery every Sunday, June 22-September 21, at the gorgeous Ste. Chapelle Winery.  Guests can be soothed with sizzling summer sounds while taking pleasure in wine picnics on the grass and breathtaking views of the Snake River.

No matter what month you visit Boise, a nearby winery is ready to welcome you with open arms and a full glass.  Come experience Southwest Idaho’s Wine Country, where 18 wineries and hillside vineyards are producing award winning wines and you can enjoy the vibrant flavors of each wine and the spirited nuances each winery has to offer.
