NEW "OPEN SKIES" AGREEMENT MEANS MORE AIRLINE AND ROUTE OPTIONS FOR TRAVELERS

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL SITE VAYAMA.COM POISED TO HELP TRAVELERS FIND BEST FARES AND SCHEDULES

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (April 3, 2008) -  Travelers will benefit by having more choices in carriers, routes and schedules as a result of the United States-European Union "open skies" agreement that went into effect on March 30.  As the only online agency dedicated exclusively to international travel, Vayama (www.vayama.com) reminds international travelers of its unique position to assist them in finding the best schedules and fares as a result of the expanded routes.

The new open skies agreement means that U.S. and EU airlines, which were previously restricted on what airports they could service, are now able to fly into any destination in the United States or European Union countries, opening up the potential for thousands of new routes between the U.S. and Europe.

As the only Web site dedicated 100% to helping North Americans research, plan and purchase international flights, Vayama maintains close relationships with international carriers and has always offered the most flight and fare options to destinations outside of the U.S. and Canada.  As a result, the Web site is uniquely positioned to assist travelers in finding the best flight options and lowest prices as new "open skies" routes are added.

"The new agreement means that both European and U.S. carriers will create new routes and schedules, and that increased competition will likely translate into lower fares for travelers," said Andre Hesselink, CEO of Vayama. "Based on direct partnerships Vayama has already established with many leading international carriers, the site will be able to automatically add new flights and fares as they become available."

Some carriers have already announced new routes and many more will follow.  For example, Delta Air Lines is now able to offer flights from Atlanta-Hartsfield into London Heathrow, and Air France is offering flights from London Heathrow to Los Angeles LAX.  Opening up European airports such as London Heathrow to additional U.S. and European carriers also means expanded routing for travelers destined for other parts of Europe or the world since they can now use the airport as a gateway.

Since its June 2007 launch, Vayama remains 100% focused on international travel and offers Americans the best prices and most schedule options from hundreds of airlines to 191 countries.

The Web site also helps travelers prepare for other aspects of their trip by offering the following: airline factoids such as fleet size and age; ground transportation (from airport, within city, to other parts of the country); health, visa and safety information; detailed city maps and more.
