The discounts apply to all five of Hurtigruten's Antarctica programs including the company's newest adventure, the 17-day "North & South Antarctica" expedition aboard the
MS Fram, the world's newest expedition ship. This is Hurtigruten's longest visit to the White Continent - nine days - and takes participants to the rarely visited Marguerite Bay, an extensive bay dotted with ice-covered islands, surrounded by stunning mountainous icebergs and is home to the only known breeding colony of emperor penguins on the west side of the Antarctica Peninsula. With the discount, fares range from $5,799 to $15,599 per person, double for Jan. 22 and Feb. 3, 2009 departures, a savings of $1,000 to $3,600 per person.
