With amazing brevity and light humour Bernard Shaw’s Village Wooing weaves in many of his favourite themes, such as women's rights, the battle of the sexes, economics, and the role of the writer in shaping opinion. This witty one-act gem consists of three conversations which take place in the early '30s between a rather testy Shavian gentleman and a plucky village shopkeeper.
An Ensemble member at the Shaw Festival for 24 seasons, Jim Mezon has appeared in over 32 productions at The Shaw. Most recently, he appeared as Danforth in the 2006 production of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible and directed Bernard Shaw’s Too True To Be Good. Catherine McGregor has been with The Shaw for eight seasons, appearing most recently in the 2006 productions of Ruth and Augustus Goetz’s The Heiress and Bernard Shaw’s Arms and The
