Backroads explores Canada coast to coast

05-02-2008

BERKELEY, CA (May 2008) —From the rugged Atlantic coastline of Prince Edward Island to the quaint streets and colorful gardens of Victoria on Vancouver Island. Backroads has been introducing travelers to Canada’s spectacular natural beauty, fascinating history and varied culture for nearly three decades.

There has never been a better time to explore Canada. The eyes of the world are expected to focus on British Columbia in less than two years during the 2010 Winter Olympics, so travelers can beat the rush by visiting this summer as the province celebrates its 150th anniversary. On the opposite side of Canada’s vast scenic wonderland, Quebec turns 400 years old in 2008.

Backroads first ventured into Canada in 1980 with a biking trip through the Rockies and now offers more than 150 departures north of the border.  Whether travelers are seeking luxurious accommodations after a 50-mile pedal on Icefields Parkway or the tranquility of coastal hikes through Nova Scotia’s seaside towns, Backroads has challenging and leisurely trips to suit all energy levels.

Here’s a look at Backroads’ Canadian trips:
