Punta Cana Family Resort Undergoes $34 Million Renovation
A $34 million ongoing renovation has transformed Club Med Punta Cana into a luxurious family escape. This May, the resort debuts a full service spa, free standing family suites with a private pool and revamped children’s programs with a mini water park. Nestled on the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic, Club Med Punta Cana sprawls over 75 acres of beachfront property. This family vacation resort offers programs for children four months to 17 years, including a special hangout and skate park devoted to teenagers.
“Not only is this a complete property upgrade,” says Sabina Sicuso, Vice President of Marketing and Punta Cana project leader, “this project carries the brand into a completely new era. Innovations include Tiara, our boutique style family suites, our new children’s programs and upscale amenities focused on family.”
Renovations at a glance include:
- Upgraded children’s facilities from Baby Club Med to Passworld (four months to 17 years old). Additions to the children’s programs include a redesigned skate park for the teen hangout, new Baby Club Med programs such as interactive parent-infant daily workshops and a dedicated children’s pool with a mini water park. Engaging programs entice all ages with activities such as Baby Gym, Petit Chef, Lil’Explorers Science Club, Hip-Hop Kidz and Mini Magic.
- Tiara, the new luxury resort concept for Club Med, debuts this May. Tiara offers guests 32 oceanfront family suites, a concierge, private pickup from the airport and special amenities including bathrobes, turndown service, slippers, Keiji deluxe toiletries, laundry service, a stocked mini bar and breakfast room service. A boutique resort within a resort, Tiara provides a haven with a private pool and bar as well as exclusive events. The family suites consist of 748 square feet interiors with flat screen TVs and free Internet access. Just steps away, suite guests can lounge on their private 100 square foot patio equipped with a table, two chairs and a lounger or take a dip in the new infinity pool reserved for Tiara guests only.
- A complete renovation of all rooms with interior design from the Remy Camoin Studio.
- La Samana and Hispaniola restaurants will be upgraded with new healthy dining options and improved interiors. Both restaurants will combine local ingredients with healthy international cuisine to create a truly unique dining experience.
- Club Med’s full service spa. The “Creole”-style spa replicates tropical design and features a full service spa with delicately worked interior design, 10 air-conditioned treatment rooms, including one couple’s suite, individual and couple’s oceanfront Palapas, a Zen area for relaxation and a private swimming pool. For the first time, U.S. guests may book spa packages in advance. Five package options are offered, and each is designed to enhance a certain element of mental, physical and spiritual balance. Packages range from three to six days and feature treatments such as Aromasoul scrubs and massages, Monticelli mud treatments, pearl facials and more.
