ASHEVILLE: Recent evenings of cooler temperatures have sparked vibrant colors. The Biltmore Estate is enjoying a rainbow of foliage and the North Carolina Arboretum is full of brilliant red maples and yellow hickory trees.
BRYSON CITY: This is the week to visit if you want to see peak colors. Vibrant golds, yellows, reds and oranges are visible.
GRANDFATHER MOUNTAIN: Almost all the trees on the Mountain have turned. The valleys are also filled with spectacular colors.
BOONE: Vivid colors are expected this week. The colors are predicted to keep coming. Fire-colored red and orange leaves are visible.
HENDERSONVILLE: The colorful foliage is beginning to pop as splashes of yellow and red set against the deep evergreen trees race down the mountains.
BEECH MOUNTAIN: At more than 5,500 feet, the views are spectacular. Great opportunity for photography.
BLOWING ROCK: Blazing colors are marching across the mountain peaks. The area has been transformed into a patchwork of orange, crimson and gold. Colors are predicted to last another week.
SPARTA: The northwest corner of the state is blanketed with fall colors. Colors should last throughout the weekend and may continue through Halloween.
CHIMNEY ROCK: The colors on the middle to lower elevations are intensifying and expected to reach full color next week.
HICKORY: Shades of fall color are steadily appearing and expected to reach maximum color at the end of Oct.
YADKIN VALLEY: Color continues to adorn various trees with tones of gold and red throughout the wine country. Predicted dates of full color estimated to be at the end of Oct.
