Bald Head Island Announces Gas-Free Getaway on Car-Free Island

On the eve of the $5 gallon of gas becoming a record-setting reality, Bald Head Island Limited announces a Gas-Free Getaway Special that takes the
bite out of some of the pain vacationers are feeling at the pump.

Vacationers who book a stay of one week or longer in any of Bald Head Island
Limited's accommodations, which range from cozy cottages to grand homes,
will receive a $150 gas card. Because there are no cars allowed on Bald Head
Island, and transportation from the mainland is via passenger ferry, the entire
$150 can be put toward getting to and from the ferry landing in Southport,
NC. Based on current fuel prices, this can get travelers from Washington, DC,
Atlanta, or the mountains of NC to the island and back without shelling out
any of their own cash.

now through July 31st to reserve.  Be sure to mention the "Gas Free
Getaway" special. Vacations must be taken by September 15th.  Some

In addition to saving money at the pump, vacationers on car-free Bald Head
Island can feel good reducing their carbon footprint for a week.
