RiverBarge Excursions embarks on its next decade of “Sharing America’s Stories” with one-of-a-kind excursions and special savings
August 22, 2008 – The best only gets better with age. As RiverBarge Excursions continues to celebrate 10 years of “Sharing America’s Stories” they are looking ahead to an exciting 2009, as they embark on their next decade of exploring America’s inland waterways.
From first landings to reunion trips, 2009 will be a year full of new and exciting excursions:
First Landing in Brownsville, Texas – The Route of Jean Lafitte – Feb. 12 - 19, 2009: Begin this 8-day adventure with an overnight stay in Galveston Island, Texas, one of the most historic and picturesque cities along the Gulf Coast. Explore the Inland Gulf Intracoastal Waterway with a passage through Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. Enjoy the activities in Corpus Christi and San Antonio, Texas. This will be the first time the R/B River Explorer visits Brownsville, Texas where guests will enjoy a 2-night stay. Finish off the excursion with a tour of Matamoras, Mexico.

Barge and Bus – B&B Post Excursion Bus Trip to French Lick – June 30 - July 2, 2009: A new addition to the schedule in 2008, the Barge and Bus trips were such a hit, RiverBarge has included them again in the schedule for 2009. Join RiverBarge after the June 25-30, 2009 Cincinnati Round Trip excursion for three days of fun beyond the river and explore French Lick Resort. Enjoy an afternoon at the French Lick Winery, a tour of West Baden Springs Hotel and a train ride on the Indiana Railway. 1st Explorer Nashville to Chattanooga Trip – Expanding Frontiers - July 7 - 14, 2009: The R/B River Explorer will barge the farthest on the Tennessee River it has ever gone with a visit for the first time to the very scenic and historic river town of Chattanooga, Tenn. Begin this 8-day adventure in “Music City USA,” Nashville, Tenn. and travel on the Cumberland and Tennessee rivers with visits to Savannah and Shiloh, Tenn. and Florence and Guntersville, Ala. before concluding with an overnight stay in Chattanooga.

1st Explorer Reunion Chattanooga to St. Louis Trip – Expanding Frontiers – July 14 - 23, 2009: RiverBarge’s 1st Explorers have shared many excursions together and built friendships that bring them back to RiverBarge over and over again. Each year, RiverBarge hosts a trip to bring these guests back together for a one-of-a-kind excursion. The 1st Explorer Reunion Trip will take guests through the “Five Rivers,” beginning with an overnight stay in Chattanooga, Tenn. where the R/B River Explorer will begin a trip out of Chattanooga for the first time. Travel on the Tennessee, Cumberland, Ohio, Upper Mississippi and Illinois Rivers with host landings in Guntersville, Ala., Florence Ala., and Grafton, Ill.
