SAN DIEGO NORTH HOTELS AND ATTRACTIONS WELCOME VISITORS BACK TO RESORT REGION

ESCONDIDO, Calif. - - (October 31, 2007) - Following the recent wildfires in
San Diego County, the San Diego North Convention & Visitors Bureau reports
the re-opening of all hotels and attractions within the 2,000 square mile
resort region.

 Encompassing 35 miles of coastline from La Jolla north to Oceanside, the
inland communities of Rancho Santa Fe, Escondido and Rancho Bernardo, the
mountains of Julian and the Anza-Borrego Desert, San Diego North includes
more than 200 hotels with 18,000 rooms and popular tourist attractions such
as Legoland, the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park, the Birch Aquarium and
the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

While the wildfires have burned primarily open space in the outlying areas of
San Diego North, including Rancho Bernardo, Poway, Valley Center and
Fallbrook, no hotels or attractions were lost due to the fires. Several hotels
closed down briefly to aid evacuees and others were temporarily closed
because of accessibility issues.

"The tourism sector of San Diego North has been extremely lucky," said Cami
Mattson, president and chief executive officer of the San Diego North
Convention & Visitors Bureau.  "Those visiting San Diego North in the near
future would never know there was a fire in the region.  They'll still find the
same pristine beaches,  green golf courses and world-class spas virtually
untouched," Mattson said.

For visitors planning a trip to San Diego North, the San Diego International
Airport is fully operational, all major highways in the region are open and
accessible, and Amtrak is back to its normal schedule.  The air quality has
returned to a "good" indictor level according to the San Diego Air Pollution

donations to the evacuation centers and coordinated efforts to assist with
