L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools has various, courses, trips, and tours, offering a myriad of opportunities for individuals, groups, and families. From paddling canoes and kayaks, to fly-fishing, clay shooting and specialized women’s programs and family adventures; introducing someone to an outdoor activity is made fun and easy. Throughout the spring and summer a succession of programs offers participants a wealth of experiences to fill their days. Whether trying something new, adding to existing experience, or simply enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools has an experience for everyone.

For an easy stocking stuffer, consider a Walk-On Adventure for just $15.00- choose from many fun and easy outdoor activities that are offered at all L.L.Bean retail stores. These short adventures offer quick and easy ways to try out a new sport, build upon existing knowledge, or just spend a couple of hours outdoors doing an enjoyable activity. The activities allow participants to enjoy and learn valuable new tips in a brief 1½ to 2½ hour experience, with the option of doing multiple activities throughout the day. Activities are available on a seasonal basis at the stores and range from snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sporting clays, fly casting, archery, and kayaking. All necessary equipment is provided. Simply come into the store and sign up on the day of the program. No prior registration is necessary. Most Walk-On Adventures are available for children age 8 and up.

The L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools started in 1979. The programs have since expanded to include many activities such as bike and paddling tours, family adventures, women’s courses, and group adventures.
