ANDAZ WEST HOLLYWOOD OPENS DOORS JANUARY 8TH
01-08-2009West Hollywood, CA (January 5, 2009)—The hoarding around Andaz has begun to come down along with the monumental artwork that has concealed the south-facing exterior of the building for the last month as Andaz West Hollywood begins to reveal its many layers in preparation for the January 8th opening. While the first North American Andaz encourages its guests to create their own experience, the hotel also offers them an uncomplicated stay while focusing on their simplest pleasures.
“It’s been quite a journey, but we’re delighted to have the doors opening on January 8th,” said Andaz General Manager Michel Morauw. “We look forward to welcoming our first guests and the community to Andaz.”
Andaz West Hollywood has completely re-imagined and gutted the fourteen-story former Hyatt on Sunset or, as it was know in its rock & roll heyday, the “Riot House.” While guests may still find subtle hints and heritage from its earlier days, the new hotel focuses on unique details and the special locale of
“Our mission has been to make each [Andaz] property unique to the surrounding area,” says Janson Goldstein principal Hal Goldstein. “We highlight both the contrasts between the modern and the mid-century, as well as to offer transparency. We break down barriers between inside and outside space.”
January 8th will also mark the opening of the highly anticipated RH restaurant. French-trained chef Sebastien Archambault leads as Executive Chef of RH and has been working tirelessly with local vendors and growers to create his “market to table” menu focusing on regional, seasonal ingredients and personal choice. In addition to a menu of signature dishes, RH will offer a market list. Guests will be able to choose items off this list and customize their own dinner.
