Niccolò Michiavelli, a central political figure in the Italian Renaissance, actually wrote his infamous political treatise, The Prince, at Villa Mangiacane.
Period paintings and original Renaissance frescoes can also be seen adorning the imposing walls of the villa. Architectural details of the noble and majestic home are a tribute to Michaelangelo’s participation in its design. In fact, because of the significance of the owners and architects, Villa Mangiacane’s original architectural plans are preciously guarded at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.
