Peter Sommer Travels (www.petersommer.com), leading provider of specialist archaeological tours, gulet cruises & private charters in Turkey and Greece, has launched two brand-new family cruises for 2009, Sailing to Ephesus (May half term 23 – 30) and Cruising the Ceramic Gulf (October half term 24-31). These tours build on the success of their previous family trips, Sailing Western Lycia and Cruising the Carian Coast (July 18-25). The family tours are popular with families with children aged between 7-16, for an eclectic blend of cultural delights, historical adventures, and water sports. While exploring the past, the whole family is able to relax and enjoy fine food in sybaritic settings.
Whether it’s a gulet cruise down the Carian Coast or a trip around the azure waters of the Ceramic Gulf, Peter Sommer Travels combines the key ingredients for the perfect family trip. The tours are a magical combination: blending swimming in secluded bays, fresh Turkish food, magnificent scenery, culture and an unrivalled glimpse into ancient history. Children love exploring the ancient ruins – delving into 2,000 year old tombs, or taking the stage and performing in the Greek and Roman theatres. It’s not just history - from lizards to wild herbs, tortoises to all manner of creepy crawlies, there’s a wealth of Mediterranean animals and plants for children and parents to discover. There are wonderful new foods to savour, sounds to hear, and loads to see - a truly exotic adventure.
What makes Peter Sommer Travels so unique? A small family run tour operator, Peter Sommer Travels’ tours focus on exemplary personal service and attention to detail. Peter Sommer Travels was born out of the passion to bring history to life on the very spot it was made. Expert archaeologists have designed their tours based on their vast knowledge of this landscape, striving to make their family holidays as inspiring, relaxing, and enjoyable as possible. Peter’s partner, Elin, and 7 year old daughter Rebecca, always come with him on the family trips that he leads. They can’t wait to be back on the boat and swimming in the sea.
