The World Wide Web Gets the Social Story
Banff National Park, Alberta (February 24, 2009) – Banff National Park has a real story to tell and prominent sites like CNN.com and YouTube are listening. Banff Lake Louise Tourism is proud to launch The Real Banff weekly video report. Supported by a weekly blog and favourite destination photos, social travellers are sharing and commenting on the inside scoop for Banff and Lake Louise.
Inspired by Banff Lake Louise Tourism’s social media coordinator’s name, Reality Bissonette, The Real Banff Report uncovers the one-on-one stories of both locals and travellers to the area. In its early trial period, three videos have already appeared on the front page of CNN.com through iReport.com, a prominent USA based social media site.
“It’s not so much about me personally as it is about the character of people who come to Banff and Lake Louise who want the real experience in our outdoor destination”, says Real. “I’ve lived here for six years and spend my leisure time outdoors skiing our resorts, hiking our backcountry trails, and then sharing the day’s story over a drink with friends. We thought it would be fun to take this concept and share it with travellers who just want to have a conversation about their travel experiences.”
To catch a conversation with Real, visit www.banfflakelouise.com and click on her blog. While there you can also submit your favourite image of Banff National Park and be sure to check out the latest t-shirt designed for and inspired by her popular video on “Romance in the Canadian Rockies.” You can view this video and others at www.YouTube.com/user/banfflakelouise2 . Real can be spotted at various locations and attractions throughout Banff National Park and is always on the look-out for people to feature in her videos.
