Curaçao’s annual dive festival attracts thousands of divers to the island, many of them in time to save hundreds of dollars during this year’s Curaçao Now promotion
WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao – March 3, 2009 – Known for its superior dive sites, experienced dive instructors and well-respected dive schools, Curaçao has, for many years, been a top destination for divers all over the world. Those divers will be on-island again this year for the annual Curaçao Dive Festival from May 23-30, 2009. Not only will they enjoy great workshops and speakers, but this year’s Dive Festival will also run in tandem with Curaçao Now, the island’s twice-yearly promotion that offers discounts on everything from hotels and car rentals to shopping and dive sessions.
In addition, this year the Dive Festival welcomes several well-respected figures in the dive community who will speak on a variety of subjects: Professional photographer, publisher of popular underwater images and co-author of the “Images” column in Sport Diver magazine, Jason Heller; President of Oceans for Youth Foundation and experienced Dive Instructor and Trainer, Captain Wayne Hasson; and airbrush painter and instructor of the Marine Art Paintbrush sessions during the Dive Festival, Peter Evers.
“Everyone in Curaçao looks forward to the Curaçao Dive Festival. It’s a time when we can show off all of the great attributes that make Curaçao a top-notch dive destination,” notes Brenda Benjamin, Director of Marketing for the Curaçao Tourism Corporation. “This year’s Dive Festival runs concurrent with our well-received Curaçao Now promotion that allows divers to save over $700 on their trip. There’s never been a better time to visit Curaçao.”
