Nearby Attractions and Excursions

Although it feels totally secluded, Taninah is conveniently located near the area’s major attractions, including Xpu-Ha Beach, one of the least known but most spectacular white sandy beaches on the Caribbean, and the eco-archeological park of Xcaret.

          Visitors interested in history or archaeology have a wide selection of superb Mayan ruins to visit. Tulum, the only Mayan city built on the coast and sited on a cliff along the Caribbean, is 25 minutes south of Taninah.  Thousands make a pilgrimage there each year. Guests may also visit the nearby ruins of Coba, Uxmal or Chichen Itza.

          The cosmopolitan town of Playa del Carmen, with its famous 5^th Avenue pedestrian walkway, is also minutes away. Playa del Carmen offers ferries to Cozumel, Mexico’s largest island, with first rate scuba diving and shopping.

Dining at Taninah 

Taninah’s rate includes three Mayan style meals a day. Guests rave about the delicious food with menus offering exciting new twists on Mexican foods, fresh seafood and genuine Yucatecan cuisine, using the freshest local ingredients

Mayan Chef Leopoldo centers his menus on his most popular dishes.
