An independent traveler who booked the elements of this tour would pay at least $3,000, so China Spree's price is a truly amazing bargain
The 10-night China Delights Tour covers Beijing, Suzhou, Tongli, Hangzhou and Shanghai. Included in the $999 price are non-stop air from San Francisco to Beijing on Air China, centrally located first-class hotels with private bath, daily American breakfasts, most other (Chinese) lunches and dinners, all transportation in China, sightseeing tours with entrance fees, special evening shows, an expert tour director, local guides, baggage handling and special culinary events such as a Peking duck dinner and a traditional Mongolian barbecue lunch.
In addition to the standard Beijing sites—Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City (a 10-minute walk from the hotel), Olympic Stadium and the Great Wall—China Spree provides lunch with a Chinese family and a rickshaw tour of Beijing's hutongs, the old neighborhoods with a network of courtyard homes and narrow lanes. In fabled Suzhou, the city of ancient canals known as the "Venice of the East," the tour visits a classical garden and silk mill.
