Hästens, the luxury sleep brand, introduces the latest innovation in sleep technology, the Hästens MindSpa. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), up to 40% of adults report at least occasional difficulty sleeping, and chronic and/or severe insomnia affects about 10-15% of adults. Hästens MindSpa is the result of years of research and patented technology developed at Stanford University, and was created with these troubling statistics in mind.Since 1852, Hästens has provided the best sleep money can buy. MindSpa is a digital player that utilizes auditory visual stimulation (AVS) to relax the user while stimulating cerebral functions that encourage sleep. AVS is the science of combining light and sound to influence brain activity.
Hästens MindSpa utilizes custom LED glasses or an ultra-comfortable LED sleep mask to deliver the AVS effect to users. The glasses or mask are worn by the user and plugged into the player, creating specific patterns of flickering lights that easily penetrate the eyelids. The light then reaches the brain in the form of electrical impulses by way of the optic nerve. These pulses of light, along with sound and specially developed audio programs create a subtle matching effect through the natural process known as “frequency following response.”
Scientific experimentation has shown that the repetitive light and sound used to create the “frequency following response” event has the ability to set to brainwave frequencies to promote mental sharpness, deep relaxation and stress reduction, ultimately contributing to better quality sleep. The effects of the MindSpa are cumulative so it is recommended for use several times per week, or even on a daily basis.
