ADVENTURE WALK AND GAME DRIVE BY $850 PER PERSON
Newport, RI (April 28, 2009) –Thanks to the continued strengthening of the dollar versus the rand, the Wayfarers is offering $850 per person savings on their 12-day exploration of the wild land of South Africa, an adventure filled with walking, game drives and wine tastings. Experienced rangers accompany all nature walks and game viewing excursions. The program is led by Chris Hague, founder of the Wayfarers, and his wife Malle, who was raised in South Africa. Accommodations are hand-picked for comfort and uniqueness, and local cuisine and regional wines are featured at every meal. Itinerary Highlights
The 12-day exploration of South Africa’s colorful Western Cape begins in Cape Town and ends in Johannesburg. Walkers will encounter game, flora and rock-art in the wilderness of the Bushmans Kloof reserve, set against the backdrop of the Cederburg Mountains. Dramatic views of Cape Point where the Indian Ocean meets the Atlantic Ocean add another dimension to this wondrous trip. A safari during a visit to the Madikwe Game Reserve provides an opportunity to see the “Big Five” (elephants, lion, leopards, rhinoceroses and buffalos). The route will also explore the historic Cape Dutch buildings at Tulbagh and the Huguenot architecture and farms of other scenic towns.
Breaks during the days include wine tastings at prestigious South African vineyards such as Constantia Valley while taking in breathtaking African sunsets.

The Western Cape is a 12-day/11-night program of easy bush and hill walking for 3-4 hours per day plus game drives. Walkers will stay in a variety of inns, hotels and lodges such as The Cellars-Hohenort, Bushmans Kloof, Le Quartier Français and Madikwe Safari Lodge.
