THE GREENBRIER RESORT HEATS UP SUMMER WITH BBQ MASTERY OFFERING
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va, May 12, 2009 – This summer, The Greenbrier resort is once again firing up the charcoal and inviting the kitchen-shy and grill-savvy alike to experience the BBQ Mastery package. Offered from June 28 through July 1, 2009 and led by Dr. BBQ, Ray Lampe, the culinary event will offer a crash course in grilling and barbecuing as well as new techniques for the at-home aficionado.
The program will be led by one of the nation’s most well-known barbecuers, Ray Lampe, who has years of experience and won numerous awards for his barbecue expertise. Lampe, also known as Dr. BBQ, has written four cookbooks, taught BBQ cooking classes throughout the country, and currently writes the “Ask Dr. BBQ Column” for Fiery Foods and BBQ Magazine.
The three-night BBQ Mastery package will include demonstrations and hands-on classes held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the property’s state-of-the-art kitchen, daily lunch tastings in the classroom, a welcome reception and premier accommodations nightly. Class topics may include Whole Hog Demo, How to Build a Fire That Lasts, Chicken and Ribs, and Rub Making. For those who can’t take the heat, the schedule will allow respite from the kitchen with plenty of free time in the afternoon to enjoy the more than 50 activities at The Greenbrier.
Rates for the package begin at $2,380, excluding resort fee and taxes. Prices include three nights’ room accommodations, welcome reception, demonstrations, hands-on classes, and daily lunch in the classroom. The class size is limited to 50 students.
