WHO:  The TradeWinds Island Resorts – two beachfront resorts within steps of each other on the island of St. Pete Beach, just 30 minutes from Tampa.

 

WHAT: This year TradeWinds Island Resorts on St. Pete Beach will roll out the red, white and blue beach blanket for fun-filled holiday weekend celebrations, complete with parties and cookouts, dance tunes, showy fireworks and lots of kid-style fun.

 

For guests wanting to celebrate America’s birthday in style, the TradeWinds is offering the “Red, White & Boom” package from July 2-7, 2009 beginning at $528* at the Island Grand and the Sandpiper Suites. The package includes three-nights accommodations, the Stars & Stripes party and buffet for two on Saturday, July 4 and all the benefits included in the Resort Amenity Fee.

 

As a final salute to the end of summer, “Labor Day LuWow” invites guests to enjoy three-nights accommodations, the LuWow party and Floribbean buffet on Sunday, Sept.6 and use of beach cabanas, fitness centers, tennis courts, paddleboats and all the additional benefits of the Resort Amenity Fee.  Valid from Sept. 4-8, 2009, the package begins at $495* at both the Sandpiper and the Island Grand.

 

The Fourth of July (July 4) and Labor Day Weekend buffets (Sept.6) will take place in the Pavilion at the Island Grand.  The Fourth of July feast will feature an All-American menu of burgers and hot dogs with all the fixins’, barbecued chicken breast, smoked pork spare ribs, traditional sides such as baked beans and corn on the cob, and of course, hot apple pie. The Labor Day Luau menu includes a slow roasted pig, grilled Mahi Mahi fillet with mango relish, Hawaiian potato salad with pineapple, baked sweet potatoes with coconut butter and a variety of island-inspired desserts. An “all you care to eat” seafood buffet will also be available from 5-10 p.m. on these days in Bermudas Steak & Seafood.

 

During the Fourth of July party, guests can participate in Uncle Sam’s Most Patriotic contest, BINGO, face painting and more as part of the festivities at the July 4 party. During the Sept.6 LuWow, guests can participate in “make your own lei,” a hula hoop and a limbo contest and much more. For each party, there will be a DJ spinning lively beach tunes. In addition, the TradeWinds will light up the skies of St. Pete Beach with a fireworks extravaganza on the sandy shores of the Gulf of Mexico at the Island Grand both evenings.

 

Wednesday and Saturday nights this summer RedBeard the pirate returns to spin tall tales and conduct a sing along of memorable tunes for children and adults alike. Other ongoing resort activities include the three-story inflatable High Tide Slide, bungee trampoline, dive-in movies and glow-in-the-dark volleyball and miniature golf.
