“Pack Your Bags” Program Offers Room Credit for Air Travelers

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. (July 2, 2009) – Eight hotels and inns on Amelia Island have re-launched the “Pack Your Bags for Amelia Island” program, offering air travelers up to an $80 room credit for checked baggage fees.  The program is in place through December 31, 2009 on stays of three or more nights at participating hotels.  Visitors traveling by air can find a list of hotels and more information on the “Pack Your Bags” program at www.ameliaisland.com/freebags.

“It doesn’t appear that airlines are going to stop charging for baggage any time soon, so we decided to bring the program back and give our air travelers a break,” said Gil Langley, President & CEO of the Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau.  “Our visitors like knowing they can enjoy Amelia Island without being penalized for bringing a suitcase.”
