Taste Washington Tickets Now On Sale

SEATTLE (November 15, 2007) – Tickets go on sale today for Taste Washington, the nation’s largest single-region consumer wine tasting. The two day event will take place April 5-6, 2008, and will feature seminars by top enological experts and wine celebrities on Saturday and a grand tasting on Sunday at Qwest Field Event Center. This year’s event will feature winemakers and wines from more than 200 wineries along with 75 of Seattle’s top restaurants, each serving their favorite bites.
“Taste Washington 2008 is shaping up to be the best so far in the event’s 11-year history,” said Chris Stone, Taste Washington event director. “Each year we are able to build on the success of the year prior, constantly improving and evolving one of the region’s favorite food and wine festivals. We couldn’t be more pleased with how things are shaping up for the ’08 event.”
Washington State is the second largest producer of premium wines in the US, and is quickly becoming a world leader for both red and white wines. Taste Washington, now it its 11th year, is the signature tasting event for the Washington wine industry. Tickets can be purchased on the Taste Washington website at www.tastewashington.org.

Washington’s wine industry provides 14,000 full-time jobs and contributes more than $3 billion annually to the state’s economy. In 2006 the state produced more than seven million cases of wine, for a value of greater than $685 million in retail sales, making Washington state the second largest premium wine producer in the United States.
