PARADISE ISLAND, BAHAMAS (July 17, 2009) - This summer, as a proud host to both the 2009 Miss Teen USA pageant on July 31 and the 2009 MISS UNIVERSE® pageant on August 23, Atlantis, Paradise Island resort in The Bahamas is once again offering a series of exciting and entertaining events for guests to enjoy. To commemorate the shows, the resort has created special "Pageant Packages" with rates starting at $299* for a four day/three night stay.
Guests who book the Miss Teen USA package or the Miss Universe package will have access to special show passes and tickets. Guests booking the Miss Teen USA package can purchase tickets (prices below) to the July 30 Preliminary Presentation Show and the Finals Show on July 31. Those interested in the Miss Universe package can secure tickets to the Presentation Show on August 16 (where all contestants compete), as well as the Finals Show, which will be broadcast live from Atlantis' Imperial Ballroom to air on NBC, Sunday, August 23 at 9pm ET. "Access Hollywood's" Billy Bush and "Celebrity Apprentice" star Claudia Cohen will host the live telecast. Additional ticketing options for the Miss Universe Pageant include a Viewing Party under the stars on the resort's Royal Deck, enjoying hors d'oeuvres and cocktails while watching the show on big screens, or the coveted post-pageant Coronation Ball where guests celebrate with the newly crowned Miss Universe 2009, all pageant contestants, the celebrity hosts and judges, and former Miss Universe, Dayana Mendoza. The Coronation event includes food, beverages and a live DJ spinning great tunes to dance the night away. Both packages can be booked by calling 1-800-Atlantis.
While at Atlantis, in addition to seeing the more than 80 contestants from around the world for Miss Universe out and about on the resort's endless white beaches and pools, guests can take in thrilling water experiences in Aquaventure, the modern waterscape with more than 20 million gallons of water coursing through 141 acres of lushly landscaped scenery. Water slides, river rides, pools and swimming areas allow guests hours of thrill-seeking adventure or lazy river-rafting relaxation. Atlantis is also home to the world's largest open-air marine habitat. The resort's 14 exhibit lagoons offer up-close views of more than 50,000 marine animals from over 250 species. At Dolphin Cay, visitors can meet and interact with the rescued Hurricane Katrina dolphins and sea lions in an encounter enriching for both the guests and the animals.
The Atlantis casino, the largest in the Caribbean, has 100 table games, Pegasus Race and Sports Book for sports fans and plenty of high-limit slot machines. Outdoor gaming is also available at the private,all-adult pool and beach club Cain at the Cove, exclusively for Cove Atlantis guests. Atlantis also boasts 21 culinary destinations including those helmed by celebrity chefs Bobby Flay, Nobu Matsuhisa and Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
Dining plans are priced from $69 per day for adults and $35 per day for children ages 7-11. Children ages six and under dine free with accompanying adults participating in any dining plan.
