Scranton, PA, the home city of the NBC show “The Office,” has started Fan tours on Saturdays this summer. People are really curious as to the places discussed by those wacky Dunder Mifflin-ites!
The “Office Fan Tours” take place on Saturday afternoons now through the end of August. The four-hour tour begins at the Mall at Steamtown and ends at Poor Richards Pub (always a favorite for the Dunder Mifflin employees’ happy hour outings). The tour includes full lunch at Cooper's w/ beet salad, crab bisque and more. Local brews and wine included with 21+ ticket, however keep in mind this is a clean, fun family tour. Tour includes recognizable places and inspirations such as Farley's, The Bog, Paper Magic, Cooper's, Penn Paper building, Alfredo's, and many other Scranton sights.
Tour guides will point out well-known locations and bits of trivia that will be new to even die-hard fans! The tour includes plenty of photo opportunities.
Tickets are $35 ($25 for those under 21 <w/o the local brews and wine>) and available at www.theofficeconvention.com. Melora Hardin (Jan on the Office) will be joining the tour tomorrow (Sat July 25), and Bobby Ray Shafer (Bob Vance on the Office) will join the tour August 1, and rumor has it (although official bookings aren’t yet known) that occasionally other stars of the show may come along on tours as well!
After the summer season – the tours will continue on the second Saturday of each month – to be sure Office fans get their regular Dunder Mifflin fix!
