I am extremely pleased to present the November 2009 issue of Recce: Literary Journeys for the Discerning Traveler.

Our photo portfolio showcases Art Wolfe's extraordinary, globe-girdling images of wildlife, wild places and tribal peoples, and our book excerpt spotlights the inspiring account Kilimanjaro: A Photographic Journey to the Roof of Africa.
Finally, as I prepare to embark on a two-week odyssey in Tokyo, Kyoto and rural Honshu, I recall the revelations of my first autumn in Japan more than three decades ago, and contemplate the pleasures of anticipation.
