From Our Family to Yours – Come One Come All to The Point!

12-15-2009

Bring Your Kids For Spring Break!

For twenty-three years, The Point has preserved a distinctly tranquil and mature environment, an isolated enclave of luxury in the Adirondack wilderness.  Time after time, visits have meant being immersed in rustic comfort that was somehow still compatible with refined elegance: epicurean masterpieces for every meal, cocktails always at the ready, and sporting activities galore – no chaperones required, as children were not admitted.   In the spring of 2010, however, The Point extends its legendary hospitality to include the whole family: from March 26-March 31, for the first time ever, children will be allowed to accompany their parents and friends to the Adirondacks’ premier resort.  This special treat encouraging family togetherness will be repeated the week of November 21-28, 2010 – to coincide with Thanksgiving.

With its magnificent forests, mighty peaks, and pristine lakes, the Adirondack region was the original vacation destination for many established New York families.  A love of nature and respect for the land was passed from generation to generation, and great camp vacations were emulated across the country.

Many of The Point’s most loyal guests began coming with their parents when they reached the ripe old age of 18, and successive generations will be carrying on the cherished tradition.  By establishing this new custom of welcoming families with children to The Point,  those children will grow up with something even more precious than their elders associate with it: childhood memories.

This coming March, this former Rockefeller retreat on Upper Saranac Lake will be a winter wonderland filled the finest food and wine; stocked with equipment and kits for playful outdoor activities like ice-fishing and snowman building; and the rich setting for memorable scavenger hunts, trips to the wilderness center, hands-on cooking classes, and invigorating hikes on the designated trails or explorations across wide-open fields and the frozen lake.  Ice-skating and cross-country skiing is an option if the children bring their own equipment; all adult sizes are available and at your disposal, as always.

With or without the children, all amenities, activities, accommodations, and meals are covered by The Point’s all-inclusive package, which treats visitors to the estate like guests at a country house party.  During this special week, all alcoholic beverages will be available by request to appropriately aged guests.  Be sure to let us know if a youngster will be in your party, so we may make all the necessary arrangements. One child under the age of 12 may be an additional guest in your room at no extra charge [limited to certain accommodations.]  Children 13 and older as well as multiple children, limited to three per room, will be required to have their own accommodations. Regular rates will apply for two young adults per room and third child is complimentary. All accommodations are based double occupancy and availability.

Spring into action and enjoy this rare multi-generational opportunity at The Point.  Imagine a whole family of happy campers!
