CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK'S DAY IN NEW YORK AT THE PIERRE
NEW YORK - (February 25, 2010) - The Pierre today announced its St. Patrick's Day specials. One of New York's great traditions is the annual St Patrick's Day Parade with bagpiper bands marching up Fifth Avenue, directly in front of The Pierre. Celebrate at Two E, the hotel's bar/lounge, where a flight of three of the best Irish whiskies will be served with Irish-inspired tidbits created by Executive Chef Stephane Becht.
Flight of Irish Whiskies
Bushmill's 21-Year Irish Whiskey This single malt has been called "delicate, intriguing, and sexy" by Forbes magazine.
Knappogue Castle 1995 Named after the 1467 castle in Shannon. This is a very rare and small production, with only 300 bottles released each year. The taste is scotch-like in its aroma, offering up a hint of smoke. In the mouth it is complex and grainy, with a touch of honey.
Jameson Gold Reserve Aged largely in bourbon barrels, this blended whiskey (from various casks 10 to 20 years old) derives its characteristic vanilla and wood tones from the addition of 10 percent of whiskey aged in virgin oak casks.
