Summer in Paradise 2010 is a rain or shine event for all ages, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 17. General admission is $35. VIP tickets are available for $100, which include one concert ticket, access to a dinner buffet with unlimited wine, beer, and beverages and premium concert seating. Top Notch Trop Rock Entertainment
Three of the nation's top trop rock bands will take concertgoers on a musical journey. The concert kicks off with Brent Burns, 2008 Trop Rock Music Award Winner for Entertainer of the Year and CD of the Year. Brent was the first entertainer to perform for U.S. Troops overseas after the September 11 terrorist attacks. He now tours throughout the United States playing to trop rock music lovers everywhere. Visitors should not miss the amazing jam band session with the three featured entertainers: Brent Burns, The Calypso Nuts, and Tropical Soul.
The CalypsoNuts are a pair of highly entertaining musicians and performers who provide a lively show for their audience featuring island ballads and dancing beats with a sprinkling of everything in between. This steel drum band promises to keep everyone on their feet and jamming to the beats.
Tropical Soul rocks out with tunes ranging from acoustic beach and pop covers to original "island-flavored" songs. Tropical Soul performs between 100 and 150 shows per year. Their appearances include openings for national artists such as Jimmy Buffett, Scott Kirby, Peter Mayer, Mac McAnally, Club Trini, Bill "The Sauce Boss" Wharton, St. Somewhere, and performances with John Frinzi and Doyle Grisham and James "Sunny Jim" White among others. Musical collaborations include R. Scott Bryan, who spent five years with the Sheryl Crow Band, played percussion and produced both the Tropical Soul and No Plans At All CDs, and Tina Gullickson, of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band.
Beachside Food and Drink
Delicious food and cold brews available for purchase from Swashbuckler BrewPub & Eaterie are the perfect sides to a night of tropical music. Enjoy traditional smoked barbeque selections featuring smoked beef brisket, barbeque ribs, drunken chicken made with Swashbuckler ale, hamburgers and hot dogs. Our own Brick Oven Pizza, cheese filled breadsticks and soft drinks are also available. Frozen bananas and chocolate-dipped cheesecake will provide the finishing touches to a summer beach meal!
Complementing the tropical menu will be freshly brewed ales from the Swashbuckler Brewery, a micro-brewery located on the festival grounds. Enjoy handcrafted ales from dark and bold to golden and light. Seeking libations of a different sort? Mount Hope's award winning wines will be available for purchase by the glass as well as frozen wine cocktails.
