A Child's Teddy Bear Tea Will Collect Toy Donations
For Children's Hospital Boston;
Afternoon Teas For All Ages Are Perfect
For Holiday Celebrations & Post-Shopping Rejuvenation
BOSTON, MASS. (August 12, 2010) - The gracious tradition of tea continues this holiday season at Taj Boston, the landmark hotel at Arlington and Newbury streets overlooking the Public Garden, beginning Friday, November 26, the day after Thanksgiving, and continuing through December 31.
The young and young at heart will thrill to the magical Teddy Bear Tea offered on select Saturdays and Sundays in December, with a delicious child-approved menu that includes tea sandwiches of peanut butter and jelly, ham and Swiss cheese, and turkey and cheddar cheese as well as cookies, hot chocolate, and a host of festive activities. Children ages 12 and younger are invited to donate a new stuffed bear or other toy that will be given to Children's Hospital Boston.
All ages can reconnect with friends and family or recharge after spirited shopping sessions along fashionable Newbury Street with an array of festive Afternoon Tea options offered Wednesdays through Sundays, beginning Friday, November 26. Menu items include elegant tea sandwiches, including smoked salmon and American caviar, prosciutto and melon, lobster profiteroles, and tiered trays of delectable pastries. A selection of 21 fine loose leaf teas features choices of white, green, oolong, black and herbal teas, including a special Taj Chai Blend that is exclusive to Taj Hotels. Champagne by the glass or bottle and signature holiday cocktails are also available.
Teddy Bear Tea at Taj Boston:
- Available Saturdays and Sundays, December 4, 5, 11, 12, 18,19 , with service in The Dining Room
- Seating at 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Menu includes adult and child versions of tea sandwiches, pastries and beverages
- Festivities include story telling and singing with Mrs. Claus and her elf, face painting and cookie and gingerbread house decorating
- $57 per adult and $37 per child ages 12 or younger, or $27 per child if donating a new small teddy bear or children's toy
- Teddy bears and other new toy donations will be given to Children's Hospital Boston

Holiday Tea at Taj Boston:
- Available Wednesdays - Sundays beginning Friday, November 26, and continuing through Thursday, December 31, with service in The Lounge and The French Room
- Wednesday to Friday, seating at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday, seating at 12 p.m. noon (beginning December 4), 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- Menu includes elegant tea sandwiches, including smoked salmon and American caviar, prosciutto and melon, lobster profiteroles, and tiered trays of delectable pastries, as well as your choice from a selection of 21 fine loose leaf teas
- The Children's menu includes PBJ tea sandwiches, chocolate chip cookie, chocolate covered strawberries and a pot of hot chocolate
- $33 per adult for sandwiches, pastries and tea; $25 per adult for pastries and tea; $16 for children ages 12 and under
