Terrifying Travel Tales Contest Offers Enticing Travel Prizes In WorldNomads’ Latest On-Line Competition
SYDNEY, Australia, Sept. 9, 2010 – When things go wrong on the road the experience can be terrifying. World Nomads (http://www.worldnomads.com/) invites people to submit their stories, from disaster to triumph, in a new, on-line contest called Terrifying Travel Tales. The winner will receive a prize of a choice of one of four trip options that will help build confidence on the road.
Submissions will be accepted from now to Nov. 30 with the winner being announced on Dec. 20, 2010. See:
“We’re looking for terrifying tales, but we also want to know how things might have gone differently, how that person reacted and what advice they would give to other travelers about how to avoid or survive a similar situation” said Christopher Noble, World Nomads’ general manager. “Our aim is to find the one story that inspires with travel triumph over adversity and give that person a chance to experience a new and amazing travel experience… on us.”
Noble said experiences might include, among others, being scammed out of cash, falling from a tuk-tuk or eating an adventurous path right to the hospital.
“We want to give the best storyteller the chance to overcome their terrifying travel tale by making a fresh start - on a new adventure,” he said.
To enter, travelers are asked to log on to the WorldNomads Facebook fanpage and hit the "Like" button. >From there, click on the contests tab at the top of the page and enter commentary. Each month WorldNomads will chose the top three stories for a finalist shortlist and from Dec. 3-17 its travel community on Facebook will vote for their favorite tale from the shortlist.
Round-trip airfare to the trip destination of choice will be provided by Airtreks.com. Grand prize travel options include: joining a tribe in Vorovoro, Fiji with Tribewanted; discovering Asia Minor on Turkey Trailswith Tucan Travel; exploring remote regions by bike on Cycle the Mekong: Laos and Cambodia with Pepy Tours and studying [Back to Press Releases Main]
