Christmas Holiday Activities at The Mountain
!
Charlevoix, December 13 2010 – Once again, Le Massif de Charlevoix is spreading the holiday spirit all over the mountain for Santa Claus Day, this coming Sunday, December 19, as skiers and riders of all ages sporting a white beard, red bonnet and red jacket take to the trails of this Charlevoix ski area for as little as $15 plus applicable taxes.
Close to a thousand skiers and riders take to their boards every year to re-experience the pleasures of slide sports at this no less than spectacular event. At 1:30pm, participants are invited to the summit for this year’s official group photo. The big Santa Claus Parade then leads everyone down an easy trail accessible to both the young and the young at heart, and to the base of the mountain.
Funds collected at this celebration of sharing are donated to regional organizations. Sports enthusiasts are also invited to be twice as generous by dropping off their gifts of non-perishable goods at the Summit Chalet.
Ski or Ride under the Stars – Absolutely Free!
Wednesday, December 29, it’s under the twinkling starlight that slide fans ring in the New Year, by joining the Torchlight Parade. Skiers and riders equipped with a headlamp are expected outdoors by the riverside entrance of the Summit Chalet just before 5pm, to take part in this guided descent to the base, where a traditional supper is later served from 5:30pm to 7pm, for $16.50.
Now Everyone Swing to Other Side!
Again on December 29, at 6:30pm sharp, the party swings to the other side of the Base Chalet, in the friendly ambience of the Pub, where The Charlie Price Band launches the season’s Sleeman Show-z-après-ski Series. The trio performs classics selected from a repertoire featuring guitar greats, from Hendrix to AC/DC, and even the Stones.
