01-04-2008
SOUTH LUANGWA, ZAMBIA (01/02/08) – It’s the glorious Emerald Season in Zambia’s South Luangwa Park, when the rains have left the grass a vibrant green. The bush is teeming with life. Birds are in breeding and are singing at full throttle. Dramatic skies provide spectacular photography. The mighty Luangwa River is full and flowing fast and for a few short months the surrounding lagoons are accessible by boat. To celebrate, Robin Pope Safaris is offering a special safari at savings of over 20% with seven nights at Nkwali Camp for just $3,672 per person between January 15 until March 14, 2008.
The package includes air fare between New York or Washington and Mfuwe, with stops in Johannesburg and Lusaka; accommodation and full board at the Camp, all game viewing, laundry, bar, national park fees in the Park, transfers to and from Mfuwe Airport. It also includes an overnight and breakfast at the Metcourt Laurel Hotel in Johannesburg on the night of arrival.
Nkwali Camp is in a beautiful area of ebony woodland and open grass plains. The six cool and spacious guest rooms, made of woven bamboo and thatch, with open-air bathrooms, overlook the Luangwa River. The lounge has been built around an enormous tree in keeping with the naturalness of the camp. Days are spent on game drives to view fauna and flora while nights are blissful around a camp fire and excellent dining. Bookings should be made before January 22, 2008, with travel between January 15 and March 1. Travel must be completed by March 14. Airfare taxes or any applicable Visa fees are not included in the rate. For further information or reservations, call Esplanade Tours at 1-800-426-5492 or www.esplanadetours.com
